Weekly Photo Challenge: Opportunity

A couple years ago my daughter’s school had the opportunity to learn how to make, use, and own solar and wood burning ovens.

This photo shows one of the ovens we made and the adobe oven built behind the school.  We use the adobe oven to cook food which we sell to raise money for the school.

  6. Good one. We’re looking into building a solar over ourselves. I’ll bookmark your project page. Thanks.

    • I am sure there are instructions on the internet on how to build solar ovens. I think the hardest part would have been cutting the wood to the correct shapes. The man who taught us, brought all the pieces pre cut and we assembled it. It still took a while, glueing and screwing, making sure everything sealed properly. It was a really great opportunity!
